This is Day 11. What struck me is this massive shallow organized system, with a blow up around the time of 10:30  Cloud top at about  3 km, in places deeper, but a temporal scale that is about five hours, so for a 10 m/s wind speed this implies a spatial scale of 180 km, i.e., roughly 1.5 deg. Looking at the MODIS (Terra) image from the same day shows the type of structures we are sampling. Comparing this with what we saw last week really shows the fantastic world of shallow convection and its cloud forms.
